More Description for Rite-Hite 5018
Dock leveler hold-downs prevent air-suspension trailer popups, and part of the hold-down assembly is the ramp control housing. The automatic release capability prevents the float spring from being completely compressed by moving the hold-down ratchet bar to be in a constant relative position to the pawl. With this adjustment, the pawl is disengaged, which lets the float mechanism move freely on the ratchet bar in tandem with air-suspension trailer movements. This part is for Rite-Hite dock levelers. It is a replacement part for an automatic release ramp control housing, which ensures that air-suspension trailer popups, which are a safety hazard, don't occur.
